HTML5 Mastery
Book Description
Markup is synonymous with the development of the web, but most people only scratch the surface of its capabilities. Why settle for average HTML, when you can become an HTML5 master?
That’s where this unique book comes in. It’s aimed at web designers and developers who want to take their markup even further in the exciting new directions the web has taken in multimedia, interactivity and improved semantics. HTML5 isn’t for just any web site, but for a web site that will contribute to tomorrow’s “web of data.”
HTML5 Mastery will introduce the new markup elements of HTML5—including less commonly used ones—and show you where and how to use them. It also provides clever styling and scripting techniques that you can employ on your web site. It is completely standards-compliant, and up-to-date with modern web design techniques.
What you’ll learn
- How to make the most of the new features of HTML5
About the Author
Anselm Bradford is a lecturer in digital media at Auckland University of Technology in New Zealand, where he researches interactive media, web media, and visual communication. His experience with Internet-related development stretches back to 1996, when he hand-coded his first web site. He may be found @anselmbradford on Twitter and occasionally blogs at AnselmBradford.com.
Clawing his way from deepest, darkest Somerset, U.K. upon his coming of age, Paul Haine found himself ironically trapped for another six years on the opposite side of the country in deepest, darkest Kent, learning about web standards during the spare weeks between history lectures. Now residing in East Oxford, he spends his days working for an international publishing company, surrounded by a plethora of Apple-branded hardware, Nintendo kitsch and a truly massive collection of grunge and pixel fonts. Paul also runs his personal blog, JoeBlade.com, alongside his design blog, UnfortunatelyPaul.com. He attends to both of these approximately every six months during the gaps between catching up with his blogroll, and refreshing it to begin reading again.
